Tips on how to maintain your cowhide for longer durability

Because they are extremely durable they can last for many years. However, properly maintaining these rugs requires a little attentiveness to ensure that your cowhide continues to look great years down the road. Here a few things you need to know about caring for your cowhide product

Creases, Wrinkles and Folds

Over time and within normal use on the floor, the cowhide rug creases should flat out naturally. However, if you would like to speed up the process, we recommend to lay heavy furniture or books on top of your hide.

Cleaning

Simply vacuum the cowhide depending on traffic and soiling. We recommend placing your rug in low traffic areas. Periodic rotation is suggested.

Spills

For spills such as ketchup, sodas, wine, etc., use a sponge with mild soap and small amount of water. Then, dry out with a clean cloth.

Water Soak

If in any case your hide suffers a deep water soak, hang it outside to air dry without direct sun exposure.

Special advice for Dyed and Printed Cowhides 

Vacuum ONLY. Do not use water or certain cleansers, in order to prevent color bleeding.
